Helicopter Has Power!

So while Mommy was out having a pedicure (my first one since my wedding can you believe it?) Ella brought Daddy his remote control helicopter and said, "Make it fly!" and Daddy said that he couldn't because it "Doesn't have any power."

So she leaves for a moment and returns with the helicopter and a AAA battery and said. "I have battery. Make it fly!"

Isn't she so smart??   ;)

Ella's Bakery

So Ella likes to bake. On my living room couch. Many of you may remember the "flour incident" a few months back, when Ella snuck the bag of flour out of the pantry and dumped it all over the couch and floor. We all thought it was cute. We didn't think it would continue.....

So one day I went out of town for the day leaving Ella and Kevin in the care of Daddy. Which is no big deal, he's a great father. But I think Ella knows that he lacks that mommy radar I seem to have about knowing when she's about to do something naughty.

She somehow managed to get a hold of the maple syrup (this was a $3.50 small bottle of syrup I bought at the gas station at the corner one morning when I made pancakes and realized I forgot we were out of syrup...) and poured it alllll over the couch cushions, her toy kitchen, the floor, the rug, and of course, her hands.

Then, after Daddy had scrubbed the cushions and left them in the kitchen to dry, she attempted to stack them up to try and reach the cookies on the back of the counter.

Then later that morning, she managed to break into the fridge and get out the eggs and smash them one by one on the floor in front of the couch.

She was good for most of the rest of the day until the evening when she got into my closet and stole a bottle of Pineapple Ginger body lotion and put some on her legs as well as all over the cat, Stitch. He looked mighty greasy when I got home.

So you might think two things:
1. Mommy should never leave, clearly Ella doesn't do this when she's home.
2. Don't you have childproof door latches? (Yes, we do...)

Well the next day under my watchful eye, she managed to steal my toothpaste and hide it in her room. Then, when she got sent to her room for a time out, she took out this toothpaste and squirted it allllll over the floor, her pillow, the wall, and then for good measure, she rubbed it all over her legs.

So I DO think she's attempting to make pancakes on my couch...flour, eggs, syrup...
And I also think she's been watching Mommy put on lotion too much!  ;)

Oops...

So I just realized that this used to be Ella's blog...she used to type her own updates. But she's pretty busy lately, so I don't think she'll mind that Mommy hijacked it....

Let's try this again!

There are so many things that happen with the kids that I don't want to forget! So I decided it's time to archive them! Let's start with an update on everyone....

Kevin is now 7 and a half months old and I can't believe how fast it's going. I thought time when Ella was a baby flew, but it's going even faster with Kevin. Probably because I spend more time chasing after Ella! He already weighs 21 pounds and has stayed in the 97% for growth. He LOVES to eat. And he eats a lot. So far he eats peaches, bananas, prunes, apples, pears, green beans, peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, and squash. He crawls all over the place now. Especially if he's on a mission for something. But he also spends a lot of his time on the floor trying to figure out how to stand up. I have a feeling it won't be long, maybe a few more weeks, until he's figured out how to grab on to things to pull himself up. If you hold his hands he will take steps by himself. I am not ready for a walking baby...
He has two teeth already which came as a surprise to me, because Ella didn't get her first tooth until she was 10 months old!
He's also a bit of a Mama's boy. He seems to not go to sleep as well when Daddy puts him to bed. And he reaches for Mommy a lot. And I'm really ok with this because Ella was always a Daddy's Girl.

Ella is going to turn 3 in August, can you believe it??? She's 2 and she acts it. I really think I spend half of my day dealing with tantrums and time-outs. But she's also too cute for words! She gets into all kinds of trouble, I will outline that later. She loves to talk and read books. Going to Storytime at the Library is one of her favorite things to do. Right along with blowing bubbles, playing outside with water, sidewalk chalk, going on walks and camping. She loves to go camping!

Also, we are potty training!!! We have had 4 very successful days now so I'm finally starting to feel optimistic that this time might be for real! The thing is, you have to watch her do it because she dumps her potty chair out in the toilet herself right after she pees so if you aren't there, you'll miss that she even went!

David is still working at Chase and I am still an awesome, full time mom! I do teach a few piano lessons but I'd like to leave that and maybe do some more in-home childcare. I posted an ad on Craigslist. We just need to start moving forward to achieve some dreams of building a home around Sunbury and moving before Ella starts Kindergarden.
